Quick fact By UNICEF TANZANIA :
Many parents do not know that they can support their children’s learning at home. Everyone, even without special training or materials, can support early learning.
Parents are children’s first teachers. They play an important role in the development of their brain and making them school-ready.
No formal training is required – just love, affection, and the knowledge that every experience a young child has, shapes his or her development and future.
Parents can integrate simple activities such as playing, singing, telling stories, counting and explaining things, in their daily chores to promote early learning. This can help children learn new skills.
Children who enter school ‘ready to learn’ are more likely to succeed, learn effectively and stay in school.
